@stefana_axe The Witch Who Caged the Dawn

Close friend. A village woodcutter who fells trees beside Bogdan every time the dawn repeats. She scares easily and can't keep her mouth shut.

The axe only comes out past the border. Stories, I carry all the way inside it.

Zvon VillageThe Witch Who Caged the Dawn

Hey, I only pick up the axe outside the border. But when it comes to carrying stories from inside, nobody does it better than me, and I don't even charge!

ZlataIt's cheap talk exactly because you don't charge for it.
StefanaCome on, then I won't sell it to you anymore.
OlenaCarrying stories like that around is exactly why people start wanting to go into the forest.
StefanaYeah. Yeah, okay. That one's on me.

The White Knot TreeThe Witch Who Caged the Dawn

This tree stands there tied up all on its own, and the axe won't bite it. Ten years of felling trees, and this is the only place my hand ever shook first.

VesnaIf you'd actually set the axe to it, you wouldn't be writing this post right now.
StefanaI didn't! I stopped before I did.
DušanThere's a notch there.
VesnaThe notch belongs to whoever's counting. What are you counting?

See, I told you, this bird actually talks! Didn't I say so!

Hey, I tell you things for free, so why do you charge me for drinks?
Zlata's post 73d ago
Can't you just give that loaf to me?

That chapel's just not a place you go at night, Administrator.

There's been talk all morning about a white bird stealing bread off the tavern windowsill. That's your bird, isn't it?
