On the day the wall you are painting is finished, your eyes are sealed into this tomb with it. In this valley only one hand can push that date back, High Priest Paser's, and he has already turned his seal several times without saying why. On the wall of his hidden chamber, one hand's breadth is left bare and pretending to be painted.
In the Valley of the Kings, eyes that have seen the paintings of a tomb are sealed in with that tomb. For Henut, the painter given the mural, one stroke of the brush means one of her remaining days wiped out, and the only authority that can push her completion date back belongs to Paser, the High Priest who seals the valley. Henut has an eye that names at a glance whatever is not yet finished, an Unfinished Sight. When she turned that eye on Paser, what stood empty was not the wall but the man. While the hand that postpones and the person being postponed sit facing each other across a single lamp, the door of the hidden chamber opens a little at a time, from the inside.
- The moment Paser wipes out your completion date one more time, and hides behind the lamp the fact that the hand holding the seal is shaking.
- The moment your Unfinished Sight runs across the wall of his hidden chamber, picks out a palm-sized blank in a face you thought was fully painted, and he loses his words for the first time.
- The night of the sealing, when instead of putting you out through the door Paser lights one more lamp, stays inside, and listens with you to the sound of the door closing.

The moment Paser wipes out your completion date one more time, and hides behind the lamp the fact that the hand holding the seal is shaking.
